Jag Kitchens Showroom

Jag Kitchens was established in 2004 by Malcolm and Lesley McLagan to fill a gap between low-cost (and often low quality) modular kitchens and those hand-built, labour intensive kitchens that price-wise were beyond the reach of many people.

Family owned and operated since then, Jag Kitchens services the local community in East Auckland in both residential and commercial kitchens. With Lesley and Malcolm at the helm, and celebrating the company’s 15th birthday, Jag Kitchens has now built and installed over 10,000 kitchens since the company’s inception. Their reputation spread across Auckland and beyond, with some customers returning again and again to ensure a predictable and trustworthy outcome.

One of Jag Kitchens’ key philosophies is never to compromise on quality. Due to their manufacturing facility being just a stone’s throw from the Showroom, Jag has control throughout the overall kitchen design process from start to finish, including custom-sized cabinetry and benchtops tailored to your specifications, made from top quality materials. For 15 years, clients have been trusting Jag to design, manufacture and deliver the kitchen of their dreams and remain confident that it will stand the test of time.

Employing an experienced team of kitchen design consultants, some of whom have been with Jag since the beginning, was crucial to the company’s success. Because the Showroom is not filled with sales people, but rather kitchen design consultants who know and understand their craft, Jag’s team are an integral part of the experience for clients who are guaranteed a quality, affordable kitchen design that fits their space and budget.

To support the growth of the business, in June 2012 Malcolm and Lesley decided to bring Jag Kitchens in as part of the Mastercraft Kitchens group. Mastercraft is a collection of family owned joinery businesses throughout New Zealand and Malcolm and Lesley have enjoyed the comradery of the other members. Being part of this group has allowed Jag to buy raw materials more competitively meaning higher quality and lower cost outcomes for clients. This has also ensured customers have a 10 year warranty underwritten by Mastercraft’s national scheme.

By embracing new technology early on, Jag Kitchens has been able to design and build custom sized, high quality kitchens that enables clients to see exactly what their kitchen will look like in 3D. The company uses state of the art Computer Aided Design (CAD) software that also feeds information to sophisticated production machinery ensuring accuracy and competitive pricing. Additionally, because the manufacturing factories are Jag Kitchens’ own, there is no third party payments involved, keeping pricing competitive and within budget.

Malcolm and Lesley made a considered decision from the beginning to never compromise on quality just to meet prices at the bottom of the market. For that reason Jag Kitchens has been able to grow and flourish over the last 15 years, servicing both residential and commercial kitchen builds. It is therefore no surprise that Jag Kitchens is a trusted and preferred kitchen design company for both busy working families across Auckland and building companies such as Signature Homes and Cambridge Homes.

For 15 years Jag Kitchens has worked hard to provide hassle-free, good quality kitchen design, installing on time and within budget. So here’s to the next 15 years of Jag Kitchens!
